Situated in the fork of two rivers, where Symsarna flows into Łyna, surrounded by a moat, - it delights with its splendor. The body of the Castle with a powerful tower and Gothic cloisters of the courtyard, made it called the "Wawel of the North" or the "Pearl of Warmia". For 450 years it was the seat of the Bishops of Warmia, and Lidzbark itself was the center of public life in the region. Today, the Castle houses the Warmian Museum – a place eagerly visited by tourists, which has regained its former glory thanks to conservation efforts.
